Bloomberg Law is available only to students and faculty of Campbell Law. Contact a law librarian for more information. To sign up for Bloomberg Law, click on the Academic Registration link on the Bloomberg Law homepage. A Campbell Law email address is required for registration.
Bloomberg Law has the most extensive docket database in a single platform. It includes complete federal coverage and more than 1,000 state courts with additional courts added each month. This includes the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the International Trade Commission, and a collection of over 1,000 state courts.
The majority of Bloomberg Law's federal court dockets are requested from PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) and may have docket charges attached to them. Bloomberg Law absorbs the cost of these charges up to $1500. For more information on Bloomberg Law academic user docket fees see their Docket Guidelines FAQ, available for download below.
Bloomberg Law Dockets Search can be found under the Litigation tab on the home page. To access the Dockets Search, click on the drop down arrow, then click on the Dockets Search link.
Bloomberg Law Dockets Search can also be found by typing docket search in the Global Search bar at the top of the page.
You can search Bloomberg Law Dockets a variety of ways:
You can also search by date and jurisdiction. Patent, Bankruptcy, and State Court Opinions have their own drop down search fields.
Search Bloomberg Dockets by entering keywords, jurisdiction, party names, judge or attorney names, and more.
Click on the link to access the docket.
You can view and download documents from the docket. Downloads will take a moment and can be retrieved from Bloomberg Law's Download Center. If a document has "Request" as an option, click on it. A dialogue box will ask you to accept charges. Click accept, and a dialogue box will appear with instructions on how to retrieve the document from Bloomberg Law's Dockets Request page.
You can view or download a document. If a document has a request link, click on it.
Next, click accept.
Retrieve the document from the Docket Requests page once it becomes available.
