Borrow Library Materials

Borrowing Library Materials

Present your Campbell Law ID card to the student working at the circulation desk to borrow items.

Loan periods vary according to the type of material.

Books - 28 days

Reserve books - 2 hours

Technology items - due 15 minutes before closing

Law reviews & journals, serials & looseleafs, multi-volume sets, and reference books may not leave the library.

Circulating law library materials are subject to recall at any time. Revised due dates are communicated via email. If a recalled item is not returned by the revised due date, borrowing privileges may be restricted.

The reserve collection is located behind the circulation desk and includes:

  • current hornbooks
  • study aids
  • general research aids
  • major topical treatises
  • North Carolina practice books
  • audio CDs, CD-ROMs, and DVDs
  • equipment such as chargers, headphones, and laptop stands
  • materials requested for reserve by faculty members for specific classes (for example, photocopied materials or professors' personal copies of textbooks)

Return all materials to the circulation desk by their due date.

A courtesy reminder is sent two days before an item’s due date. If the item is not returned, three overdue notices are sent.

After the third overdue notice, the material is assumed lost and a billing notice is sent. Patrons are charged a replacement fee of $75.00 or the current cost of the book if still in print. This charge is refunded if the item is returned.

* Reminder and overdue notices are a courtesy; failure to receive one does not relieve the patron of responsibility.
